COMPANY : Kathryn Campbell

Managing Partner and Digital Brand Strategist

People reference the fifty-thousand-foot view. I'm more like the Hubble, staring into deep space, puzzling over that star nebula.

Mindset

Inspiration: Is a state of mind. Deeply observe the world around you. Ask why things are the way they are. Wonder what would happen if they were different. Work process: Preferably includes red wine and cookies. Manifesto: If you don't make mistakes you're not stretching yourself. But repeating the same mistakes is stupid. So go forth and make new mistakes!

Back Story

Kathryn brings over 20 years of marketing research and brand strategy experience to Primitive Spark. With an MBA from the University of Virginia's Colgate Darden School, Kathryn has held executive positions with Ogilvy Advertising, marchFIRST, Whittman-Hart and Razorfish. She has helped clients like Toyota, YMCA, Behr and City National Bank refine their interactive strategies. She is currently President of the Los Angeles Usability Professionals' Association.

Obsessions

Genre: Science fiction -- it makes you stop and think. Food: Everything but Ethiopian and cold Korean soups. Activities: Yoga and ballroom dancing. Distraction: Laughing at my husband. It used to bother him, but now he just laughs along with me. We're a very happy couple. TV: Totally obsessed with Man vs. Wild. Like, I pause the Tivo so I can get a closer look at which plants not to eat. Most frequented websites: WSJ.com, MSN Science, BBC.com, Wikipedia and Facebook.
